Why choose matt?
A matt door takes colour without glare, which is why deep shades like indigo and graphite look their best in this finish. It's also kinder to daily life than people expect, since fingerprints and smears barely register on the soft surface.
You'll find it across both sides of our collection, on classic five-piece doors like Kensington as well as flat modern fronts like Esprit, all sprayed and finished in our own factory.

Matt absorbs light rather than bouncing it, so give the room another source of texture: a veined quartz worktop, brushed brass hardware or a timber open shelf. Darker matt colours love a contrasting island, and if the room is short on daylight, keep the wall units a shade lighter than the base run.

Matt does ask one thing of you, which is decent lighting design, because it won't bounce light around the way gloss does. It's exactly the sort of thing your designer plans for at the survey, down to where the under-cabinet strips go.

Is matt harder to keep clean than gloss?
It's easier, if anything. Fingerprints and water spots barely show, and the surface wipes down with a damp cloth like any other painted door. The one thing to avoid is abrasive cleaners, which can burnish a shiny patch into the finish.
Do matt kitchens only come in dark colours?
The dark shades get the photographs, but soft neutrals like cashmere and porcelain suit the finish just as well. Kensington and Esprit both run from pale to deep, so you can see the whole spread in a showroom.
